50) Gotta Have My Java – Bryan White
Bryan White is more known for his heartfelt country songs about love, loneliness and having a good time. In 2009 the former country star came back with a new set of songs including the fun little ditty Gotta Have My Java. The song is an ode to the dark brown drink so many need each morning to get ready for the day. The song takes a tongue-in-cheek twist on the topic of coffee and Bryan even sounds like he's having a ball as he sings it. After taking some time off to raise his two young sons and be with his wife Bryan came back after a long break with a great new fun attitude towards music. Gotta Have My Java is a great song and one of the funniest country songs of all time because…well…we all gotta have it.
49) One In Every Crowd – Montgomery Gentry
We all know this guy. And as Montgomery Gentry says it is usually the two of them. One In Every Crowd is about the guy in the crowd that kind of annoys everybody else, but he's always the life of the party nonetheless. The reason this song is funny is because we all have a friend or we are the friend that gets a little messy on nights out. They can usually tell the stories that make everyone else laugh and enjoy their time out on the town. We need these people even if it's only for a few hours each weekend. Go along with the fun the next time your out with your own One In Every Crowd.
48) Guys Do It All The Time – Mindy McCready
Mindy McCready put a little twist on the guys in 1996 with her big hit Guys Do It All The Time. The song is about Mindy and her friends going out and doing all the annoying things guys like to do with no regard for their loved ones. These activities include heading out for more than just a few drinks, watching football all day and other things while leaving your woman at home usually tending to the kids. The song was done in good fun though and that's a reason so many people loved it. It went all the way to the top and became a classic funny country song.
47) She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy – Kenny Chesney
Before he was everybody's favorite country beach bum Kenny Chesney had a little hit tune with She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy. The song took a tongue-in-cheek twist on dating. Who would think to take their woman out for a ride on the tractor? Well if that gal just happens to think your tractor is sexy you'd better get her out on the fields for a few spins around the property. Kenny Chesney was the original guy to put a woman on a tractor, but you'll have to wait until later on the countdown for another tractor song. Until then have a listen to this funny country song.
46) Weed With Willie – Toby Keith
In 2003, Toby Keith released one of the biggest country albums of all time. Shock'n Yall was an in your face album and Toby didn't hold back on his feelings with the album. While the album had hits about soldiers, bars, and whiskey it was an album cut that had fans buzzing. Weed With Willie was a fun song Toby co-wrote with fellow artist Scotty Emerick. The song is about having a little too much fun on Willie Nelson's bus one night. It's a fun song that poked a little fun at the fools that w0n't leave Willie alone for his recreational activities. While Toby and Scotty couldn't quite handle their encounter I'm sure they might venture back into funland with Willie someday.
45) Bartender Song – Rehab with Hank Williams Jr.
Punk rocker Rehab added a few steel guitar licks and a little acoustic and turned his pop punk rock song Bartender's Song (Sittin' At A Bar) into a semi-hit on the country charts. The video caught some big play on CMT and GACTV. Having Hank Williams Jr join in on the track for the country version helped Rehab get introduced to the country audience. The catchy little tuned caught on with a select few country fans and had them smiling at the ridiculous lyrics that told the story of a guy on a bender. If you think about the song's lyrics there is no doubt this story is country as well as being one of the funniest country songs of all time.
44) With My Shirt On – John Michael Montgomery
John Michael Montgomery released his own album Time Flies in 2008 and it contained a hilarious song for all of those self-conscious middle age men out there. The song is With My Shirt On and it's about wanting to make love to your woman but with your shirt on…you know…so she can't see your beer gut hanging out. The song pokes fun at all of us that have a little tough time getting older and a little wider around the waist. It happens to just about everybody. As we relax in our later years we let a few extra pounds pack on. There is nothing wrong with that and there is no reason to feel ashamed.
43) Pound Sign (#?*!) – Kevin Fowler
Kevin Fowler entered the country top 40 for the first time in 2010 with a David Lee Murphy penned tune. Pound Sign (#?*!) is a song about feeling like shhh… Well let's just say that Kevin isn't feeling too good and he shares the story with his fans. Kevin had been a huge star in his home state of Texas for many years before finally reaching the top 40. He had success writing songs for other artists and continued to tour and release music for his true fans in Texas. It took a good tongue-in-cheek song to finally get the deserving artist into the speakers of the wide country audience.
42) Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo – Tracy Byrd
Tracy Byrd had himself a huge career in the '90s. By the time the '00s rolled around he was struggling to find hits with regularity. In 2002 though Tracy found a gem of a song with Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo. The song is a story about heading out for a night on the town after a fight with a gal and having a bit too much tequila. The tune was catchy and fun and it had fans singing along. Tracy is still busy touring and Ten Rounds remains a fan favorite. It always gets people smiling and laughing along because they know they've been there.
41) Bubba Shot The Jukebox – Mark Chesnutt
We just read about Tracy Byrd. Here is his best buddy Mark Chesnutt with a classic funny country song. Bubba Shot The Jukebox is a classic Dennis Linde song. The tune tells the tale of Bubba, a guy that gets a little sad one night and shoots the jukebox at his local bar. The cops are called and the scene becomes something hilarious. Although the song is on the sad side there is just something hilarious about a guy named Bubba shooting a jukebox.
40) I Brake For Brunettes – Rhett Akins
Rhett Akins had a huge hit in '95 with That Ain't My Truck, but the song that came right before that was the top 40 hit I Brake For Brunettes. The song is a funny little track about a guy that gets off on seeing brunettes. All guys have their favorite type of gal and for some that means the brunettes. Rhett had a thing for trucks back in the '90s and he was hitting the brakes when it came to beautiful dark haired women. Since that first funny song Rhett found bigger success with following singles and today he's a well respected songwriter.
39) Cleaning This Gun (Come On In Boy) – Rodney Atkins
Rodney Atkins had been floating around Nashville for quite a few years before hitting it big in 2006. Rodney had a roll of 4 straight #1 hits on the country charts including the funny song Cleaning This Gun (Come On In Boy). The song sees the narrator getting ready for his daughter to head out on a date for the first time with a wanting boy. To prepare the narrator sets out his guns on the table and begins polishing them up just as the boy comes over to pick up the daughter. It's a funny yet serious song about protective fathers. You can't help but laugh along…unless of course it actually happened to you.
38) I Pray For You – Jaron and the Long Road to Love
Jaron Lowenstein had an unlikely country hit in 2010 with I Pray For You. The song is actually a bit on the mean side. The narrator wishes harm on his ex including a few vicious outcomes. But the song is meant to be funny and it definitely struck a chord with country fans. The song peaked at #13 on the country charts and Jaron's album went on to debut at #2 on the country album charts. Jaron found a country audience wanting for a funny song to take the edge off. I Pray For You kicked things off for Jaron in the country world and his career is just heating up.
37) All My Friends Say – Luke Bryan
In 2007, a fresh faced country boy from Georgia emerged on the scene with a fun song about drinking the night away. Luke Bryan told the story of a guy drinking his sorrows away one night. Things get a little crazy when his ex shows up and he drinks a bit too much. Luke wakes up in the morning only to hear from his friends that he was doing some crazy things and it all started when the ex walked in. Sometimes we get a little off the wagon and things get crazy, but as long as no one gets hurts it's worth a little laugh the next day. Luke Bryan has gone on to have some mega hits on the charts but fans will always remember the song that got it all started.
36) I Don't Know What She Said – Blaine Larsen
Blaine Larsen's career started in 2005 with the dead serious song How Do You Get That Lonely. A year later though the singer kicked off his sophomore album with the funny song I Don't Know What She Said. The song has Blaine telling the story of a guy caught up in love at first sight with a woman that speaks Spanish. He sure doesn't know what she said, but he sure likes the way that she says it. It's fun to be out with no inhibitions and things can get interesting when a woman talks with a sexy accent. Blaine has had a few more minor hits since and continues to record and tour. He's still young and there is likely much to hear from the talented country traditionalist.
35) Dang Me – Roger Miller
Roger Miller was one of the original country funny guys. His song Dang Me is a fast little tune about a guy that keeps making the wrong choices. The song was supposedly written in just a few minutes one day when Roger got out of a car. The song went on to become one of the biggest country hits of all time even crossing over onto the pop charts. Dang Me is probably best remembered for Roger's classic boop boop doop bom. Roger was a one of a kind country artist and probably the only one that successful used the words maple surple in a country song.
34) One Piece At A Time – Johnny Cash
In 1976, Johnny Cash had a bit of a comeback hit with the #1 song One Piece At A Time. The song has Johnny telling the tale of a guy working for the major car companies. The man in the song decides one day that he really wants one of the nice cars he keeps putting together. He realizes that he can't simply take one off the line for himself. The guy decides to take one piece at a time until he has his entire dream car. It takes year and years and when the guy and his buddy finally get the car together they realize they have a mish mash of a car that looks ridiculous. Nonetheless the guy proudly drives it down to get a title. It was a funny moment from one of country's greatest artists – Johnny Cash.
33) Mr. Mom – Lonestar
The guys in Lonestar were one of the most successful acts in country music for a ten year or so period from 1995 to 2005. The final hit from the big four in the group was the tune Mr. Mom. The song is about a guy that gets laid off from his job and decides to stay home and take care of the kids while his wife heads out to earn the bacon. What could be so tough about taking care of the kids at home? The guy learns all too soon that being Mr. Mom is no walk in the kitchen. It's a song that will make you laugh especially if you have kids.
32) Big 'Ol Truck – Toby Keith
Usually it's the country boys that have the big 4-wheel drive trucks, but in Toby Keith's 1995 hit Big 'Ol Truck it was a lady that had the big truck. Toby told the tale of falling for the gal that was cruising town in the truck. It has to make you laugh thinking of a gal heading around town in a huge truck. Or perhaps it makes you a little jealous. We can't all have big old trucks, but we can laugh at the story Toby told way back before he became a country superstar.
31) Baby Likes To Rock It – The Tractors
One #11 hit made The Tractors the surprise hit of the 1994 in country music. The guys released their debut song that year and it shot into the hearts of fans. Baby Likes To Rock It and its next line Like A Boogie Woogie Choo Choo Train were the catchiest lyrics of 1994. No matter who you were or where you lived this song found you and got stuck in your head. The lyrics are ridiculous and that's what makes the song so funny and memorable. The Tractors never found the same success again on the charts, but they'll forever be remembered for their one huge funny hit on the charts back in 1994
30) One More Payment – Clint Black
Clint Black took an interesting take on the payment plans most people tend to find themselves on in life. Black released One More Payment in 1991 and it peaked at #7 on the country charts. The song is a light-hearted take on the paycheck lifestyle many live in the world. "One more payment…" is the mindset many live with and that's fine. We only live once so why not take as much as you can while you're able? Black mentioned everything under the sun that had to do with borrowing and owing cash and he did it perfectly. The song remains one that makes you grin and even chuckle at when you hear it.
29) Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox (If I Die) – Joe Diffie
Before there was a Brad Paisley there was Joe Diffie. And there were others before Joe, but during his run of big hits in the '90s Joe Diffie captured the hearts of people everywhere with his wit and country boy charm. In 1993, Joe Diffie released the #3 hit Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox (If I Die). The song takes a look at the potential death of a good 'ol boy who loves his local watering hole. The narrator tells his buddies to be sure to prop him up beside his favorite jukebox if he ever dies. He doesn't want to leave his place even when he's gone. The concept is a bit ridiculous and that's what makes it funny, but perhaps the narrator had it right. Why not enjoy life as long as you can and perhaps even beyond…
28) One More Last Chance – Vince Gill
Vince Gill is most known for his passionate and emotional love songs and heartfelt ballads. In 1993 fans got a little taste of Vince Gill's light side with the funny country song One More Last Chance. The song sees the narrator begging and pleading his woman for just one more last chance before she hits the road and leaves him forever. Vince got his buddies together for the video including a little cameo from the great George Jones. It's hard to believe that anyone could get mad at Vince, but he put a great melody to a common situation and the song became one of the funniest country songs of all time.
27) Celebrity – Brad Paisley
The king of country funny during the '00s and beyond is Brad Paisley. To kick off his 2003 album Mud On The Tires Brad released the fun tune Celebrity. The song pokes fun at the celebrities everybody loves and adores. From free lattes that have to be just right to the tantrums you can throw in public and be thought of as cool Brad Paisley turned the mirror on the celebrity lifestyle everyone aspires to achieve. Brad took on the role of the narrator working to become a celebrity. The story is funny. The melody is catchy. And Celebrity became a classic funny song.
26) 15 Minutes – Rodney Atkins
During 2009, Rodney Atkins was come off a run of hits that rival most in country music. Rodney released the song 15 Minutes as a way to put a light-hearted spin on giving up vices. The hook of the song is that the narrator gives up all of the things that make him happy – drinking, smoking, and the rest. After it was over he realizes it was the worst 15 minutes of his life. It's a fun take on life for those that head out on the town on the weekend to simply kick back a little and enjoy the fruits of labor. There is nothing wrong with a few enjoyable things in life and Rodney let everybody know they could have a good time.
25) My Next Broken Heart – Brooks & Dunn
Is there anything better that poking a little fun at an ex while poking a little fun at yourself as well? Brooks & Dunn made the funny song My Next Broken Heart and it became an anthem for country fans everywhere. Sometimes things don't work out with relationships. For whatever reason we find ourselves out on the town again working on our next broken heart. The melody to the song was catchy and Brooks & Dunn added their trademark energy. The guys could put a spin on a funny lyric and the song remains a great funny country song.
24) High Maintenance Woman – Toby Keith
In 2007, Toby Keith was out on his own and releasing the music he had always wanted to release. To kick off his Big Dog Daddy album Toby released the funny tune High Maintenance Woman. The song is as fun and airy as it gets, but with Toby's vocals the song became a top 3 country hit. The song tells the story of a maintenance man that longs for a high maintenance beauty queen. It's the classic tale of love that can't be had. The story was made for a music video and Toby didn't disappoint with a video that will make you laugh just as much as the song. Toby Keith often gets recognized for his in-your-face attitude, but don't forget about the big guy's witty side. Check out High Maintenance Woman for a reminder.
23) Do You Want Fries With That – Tim McGraw
Tim McGraw is serious, but he has a funny charming side as well. Tim likes to have a good time and he used to do some partying as well. In 2005 McGraw released the top five hit song Do You Want Fries With That. The song sees McGraw telling the story of the guys that get caught up on the wrong side of life and divorce. The narrator sees his ex take everything he seemingly had away and then run off with another guy. Sad right? Well McGraw put the clever hook on the end with the narrator ending up working at a fast food joint asking the other guy in his ex's life 'Do you want fries with that?" It's funny and makes you laugh at life's circumstances. Sometimes you gotta just say oh well and keep on laughing.
22) I'm Gonna Hire A Wino To Decorate Our Home – David Frizzell
David Frizzell had his only solo number one hit with 1982's I'm Gonna Hire A Wino To Decorate Our Home. The story and song were as ridiculously funny as the song's title is long. David sings the story of a guy that gets caught up in a life of good timing and drinking. His wife finally gets fed up and tells him she's going to turn their house into a local watering hole so he can stay home and do his drinking instead of leaving her all the time. The song opens the eyes of how ridiculous it can be to leave the one you love each night for a few drinks with the boys. But who knows – maybe having a wino as a decorator isn't such a bad idea…
21) Ticks – Brad Paisley
Brad Paisley released Ticks in 2007. Paisley played the song for his boss Joe Galante and Joe thought the song was quirky enough yet smart enough to become a major hit. Once people got past over-thinking Ticks they realized the song was all tongue-in-cheek and 100% fun with no ill regards at all. The song went on to become a huge hit for Paisley reaching the top spot on the country singles charts. Paisley's sense of humor has crept out over the course of his career and fans have loved it. Country music doesn't have to be about serious, sad songs all the time. There is room for some funny country songs that are as simple as they are funny. Ticks is one of those songs.
20) Chug-a-Lug – Roger Miller
In the mid-sixties Roger Miller was the king of funny country music. In 1964 Roger released one of his classic tunes Chug-a-Lug. The song is a man's recollection of experiences with homemade alcohol. We can all probably think back to the first few times we tried some beer or liquor. There is really no feeling like putting that bittersweet liquid into your mouth and feeling like a grown up. Then there is of course the few minutes later when we feel a little…happy. Ah alcohol…such a great invention and a source of some great funny country songs.
19) Elvira – Oak Ridge Boys
The Oak Ridge Boys have been racking up tons of number one hits over their career. Despite having numerous signature songs there is perhaps not one that is more recognized than Elvira. The goofy love song fits perfect with the harmonies of of the guys in the group. The mmm poppa mow mow giddy up is everybody's favorite part of the song. Even kids have fun and laugh when they sing along to the words. The songs verses and chorus soar in notes and ridiculousness and it all adds up to create one of the funniest country songs of all time.
18) You Never Even Call Me By My Name – David Allan Coe
David Allan Coe is not well known because of his sense of humor. Well he might actually be known for having a sense of humor a little raunchier than his peers. Either way Coe can count one of the funniest country songs in his collection. You Never Even Call Me By My Name is a classic country song about rejection to the point of not even getting called by your name. The final verse of the song is what puts it over the top on the funny scale. Just about every country music cliche is thrown into the final verse and it's perfection. If you're hanging out on a country porch you're sure to hear this song being sung by family and friends as they enjoy themselves. The song will forever be a part of country music.
17) John Deere Green – Joe Diffie
John Deere has been part of country music living for a long time. The reference to America's greatest tractor company is common, but in 1993 Joe Diffie took another classic Dennis Linde song to the top five on the country charts and put a new spin on that famous John Deere Green color. The song is John Deere Green and it tells the story of a young couple in love. Billy Bob is the guy in the song and he loves his gal Charlene so much that he decides to write their names in big green letters on the town water tower. It's hilarious and crazy, but the song somehow works. Today JDG remains a favorite sing along song each time it comes on the radio in the truck.
16) Online – Brad Paisley
Brad Paisley is back on the list of funny country songs again. This time the song is Online. The tune pokes fun at the cliche computer nerd that sits in his mom's basement doing a little online dating. The common expectation is that people lie about their appearance and experience with their online profiles. The song came to life with Seinfeld's Jason Alexander as the main character. My favorite part of the video is when the character actually finds love based on his real life persona rather than his online personality. It's a little reminder that there is someone out there for all of us. There is no reason to tell some white lies about ourselves online…even if it can make for a hilarious country song.
15) Vidalia – Sammy Kershaw
It only reached #10 on the country charts, but Sammy Kershaw's Vidalia had lasting impact on the country music world. The song is a funny story about a girl named by using part of each of her parent's names. Violet and Dale put together their names and came up with Vidalia. They failed to realize that they had named their daughter after a delicious onion. The hook of the song is that Vidalia always makes the narrator cry. The catchy melody and sing along chorus make for one of the most memorable and fun songs in country music history. Sammy still tours the country singing and Vidalia remains one of the biggest hits of each show.
14) Brand New Girlfriend – Steve Holy
Steve Holy's country career has been sporadic to this point. Besides two number one hits there has been a mix of songs that have missed or barely made the country top 40. But those two number one songs were big hits for Holy including 2006's number one Brand New Girlfriend. The song is a funny tale of a guy that goes out and finds a girl that is nothing like his ex. The new gal likes to have fun, doesn't nag on him all the time, and has no intentions of settling down right away. The perfect woman right? Well maybe not perfect, but every guy coming off a relationship doesn't mind having a new woman that is carefree and nothing like their ex.
13) I Don't Even Know Your Name – Alan Jackson
Alan Jackson took a song idea from some family members and turned it into a hilarious country song. I Don't Even Know Your Name is a song title that became the story of a guy ending up marrying a waitress and to boot he doesn't even know her name. Sometimes the most ridiculous stories make for the best funny country songs. Alan Jackson has a little bit of a dry wit and this song is a classic Jackson song. AJ has been around for many years now and he's still churning out great country music. He doesn't often record funny songs, but he'll forever be remembered for the one he released in 1995.
12) She Got The Goldmine (I Got The Shaft) – Jerry Reed
Multi-talented country singer and funny man Jerry Reed released his final number one country hit in 1982 with the song She Got The Goldmine (I Got the Shaft). The song is funny take on divorce from the side of the narrator. The song starts out with Jerry telling the story and feeling like he will have no problem giving his ex her fair share of things. As the process moves forward he begins to realize things aren't really adding up in his favor. After all the expenses are added up there is just nothing left over for good old Jerry. Most will remember Jerry Reed for his role as Snowman in the great Smokey And The Bandit along side Burt Reynolds, but Jerry had quite the successful country music career. She Got The Goldmine is definitely a big part of that great career.
11) Redneck Yacht Club – Craig Morgan
Right around the mid '00s Craig Morgan started finding his niche in country music. The singer with a lot of drive and twang was coming off his first number one hit when he followed it up with the funny country song Redneck Yacht Club. The song made it all the way to #2 on the charts and had country fans laughing the entire time as Craig sang about enjoy a few summer days out on the lake with friends. Some buddies even joined in for the video including fellow country funny guy Blake Shelton. The song became a hit because of its hilarious country charm. It remains a funny favorite because of its sing along hooks and sense of humor.
10) Some Beach – Blake Shelton
Blake Shelton is well known for his sense of humor. It took a few albums, but Shelton's humor finally came out with the single Some Beach from his third album Blake Shelton's Barn and Grill. The song was written by country legend Paul Overstreet and fellow country artist Rory Lee Feek. Some Beach is a play on words. Shelton plays the narrator telling the story of his day. He keeps running into situations that would make any person frustrated. Rather than busting out with a curse word Blake quickly shifts his focus to some beach somewhere far away and he's able to bring a smile to his face. It's easy to laugh while listening to this song and it can help brighten any day.
9) Alcohol – Brad Paisley
Brad Paisley makes the list once again with his 2005 hit Alcohol. The song pokes a little fun at nature's funny juice. I remember seeing Brad in concert just a couple months after this song peaked. The concert was in Wisconsin and the song was a big hit as Brad acknowledged that Wisconsin is well known for its beer and beer drinkers. Alcohol is responsible for taking over more than a few decision in life. Consumption of alcohol can lead to a few poor decision, but things can also get fun. Brad takes the fun view with alcohol and the result is a classic funny country song.
8) Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off – Joe Nichols
In 2005, Joe Nichols released the funny country tune Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off. The song is another tune about the effects alcohol can have on people. In this particular song we see Nichols telling the story of a gal that can't help but to lose her various garments during a night of consuming a little too much tequila. The real fun part of the song is the melody. Everybody from adults to kids sing along with this song on the radio. It's one of those that gets caught in your head and won't leave. The story makes the song funny and Joe put the perfect country twist on the tale.
7) Honky Tonk Badonkadonk – Trace Adkins
It's one of his biggest singles to date. Honky Tonk Badonkadonk has to be the most unlikely hit song in the history of country music. Trace Adkins recorded the song and it was released as a single in 2005. The tune is an ode to the backside of country gals. Badonkadonk was co-written by Jamey Johnson who wrote many hits for other artists before finding success on his own. Badonkadonk is absolutely ridiculous and that's what makes it so funny. The song is incredibly catchy that you can't help but find yourself laughing when it comes on the radio. Even Jamey Johnson said that he was bursting out in laughter as he helped pen the tune.
6) You Ain't Much Fun – Toby Keith
Toby Keith had a #2 country hit back in 1995 with the fun song You Ain't Much Fun. The song is a story of a guy that quits drinking and afterward finds out that things aren't as much fun anymore. His gal has him doing a bunch of chores and she really isn't too cheery now that he has quit the bottle. He's feeding the dog, mending the fence and doing other stuff that just isn't really enjoyable. It's all in fun of course but perhaps there is a little truth to the fact that some things and some people really aren't much fun when there isn't alcohol involved.
5) Big Green Tractor – Jason Aldean
The success of the song Big Green Tractor seemed to surprise everyone involved. Even Jason Aldean seemed surprised by the way fans took to the fun romantic country song about having a little date out on the tractor on the farm. The song was co-penned by country great David Lee Murphy. He thought of the ridiculous concept one day when he was…on his John Deere on his property. The song is ultra catchy and it caught on in a big way in 2009 during its run to the top. Fans still love singing along with the funny story of having a great time with someone out on the farm.
4) I'm Gonna Miss Her – Brad Paisley
We're at #4 on the list and we've finally reached the funniest song from country's current funnyman Brad Paisley. I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin' Song) was written by Brad long before he even had a record deal but he waited until his second album to record and release it as a single. He wasn't sure country fans were ready for a tongue-in-cheek song about a guy that loves fishing more than his wife. The song became a smash hit #1 records and Brad has never looked back from his funny ways.
3) Queen of My Double Wide Trailer – Sammy Kershaw
The prince of funny country in the '90s was Sammy Kershaw. The Dennis Linde penned song Queen of My Double Wide Trailer is as ridiculous as the title suggests. Sammy recorded the song for his second album and the song shot up the charts and into the top ten in 1993. The tune is a story about a guy trying to continue to win the heart of his very own country queen. Linde managed to write about familiar country themes without stepping too much into a single cliche. Sammy added his classic country twang and the rest is history and one of the funniest country songs of all time.
2) Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On – Neal McCoy
It had been eight years since Neal McCoy had been in the country top ten. In 2005, the former entertainer of the year released his comeback song Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On. The song was about a fellow named Billy that heads out to have a good time at the bar. He makes sure to drink enough to get those troublesome beer goggles on and finds himself with a few interesting ladies. We all know that it's happened to us and the result is usually a hilarious story. The song remains a favorite for those heading out to look for a good time and there are always laughs that follow when Billy gets his beer goggles on.
1) I Got Friends In Low Places – Garth Brooks
We had to put Garth Brooks as #1 on this list. Friends In Low Places is the ultimate kiss my ass country song. When you've been left for someone else there is no better feeling the world than knowing you're better off without them. And it also helps to rub it in their face a little bit. Garth added his attitude and sense of humor to Friends and the song became hilarious and an instant hit upon its release. Anytime you walk into a bar anywhere across the country and Friends comes on the jukebox you'll hear men and women in the place take a step back and sing along to every word. The song relates to so many and it always brings a smile to the face of country fans. That is why it's the number one funny country song.
